7 new tracks from Japan’s HAMMER. With a 12” and two 7”s already under their belt (all of which is long sold out), this new recording offers more of the speed and accuracy delivered in their previous outputs but this is far more superior than anything they’ve ever released before. Taking cues from Japan God’s GAUZE, HAMMER deliver tight and furious Japanese hardcore. Interview in recent MRR #269, and 2nd USA tour Sept 2005 with SIGNAL LOST.
Review from MRR #271 ; This Tokyo bands seven-track second LP is chock-full of the ebullient energy and spirited, astounding delivery of the best of Japanese hardcore, channeling give-and-take choruses, throttling the rampant speed and spewed vocal attack of SYSTEMATIC DEATH or early GAUZE, while inventive parts keep them from being completely eclipsed by the comparisons. The overall effect flatlines timidly in comparison to the bands own other recordings – nothing is pushed into the red except for the raw speed- with restrained vocals and the somewhat thin guitar sound.
