Fracture issue #21
I heard 2 smoking numbers by these Canadian's some months back on a Deranged Record sampler, and when I found this in my review pile, I threw it straight on the PLAY and cracked open a cold one. Get the mood right dammit! And HACKSAW cut right through - good old back to the Garage Rock with a mission to blatantly pummel plundered riffs and hooks from vintage AC/DC, faithlessly retaining all the raw/rough edges that makes this music still sound cool-to-me. Easy listening. Turn it UP. (PC)

The eagle's head on the front of this record should have been my first clue as to what lay await inside. Featuring ex-members of Chokehold, Hacksaw play denim and plaid rock and roll that sounds more in tune with the Estrus set... but it comes to us from Deranged Records, who are taking a major leap here from their usual fare. This record makes me wanna drink cheap Yankee beer and drive a big ol' truck (not necessarily in that order), that's just how rockin' this baby is. Pure rock and roll that would sound at home being played in a garage or a in stadium packed full of rednecks. Rawk.

Suburban Voice #45
Loud rock 'n roll, straight, no chaser, to quote Miles. A pronounced AC/DC leaning in their riffing-the coda on "Blood From A Stone" momentarily references "Bad Boy Boogie." Drawlin' vocals, punchy arrangements and with a punky kick to keep things from getting plodding. The sort of music that doesn't require deep analysis-just makes you wanna boogie.
