(DY26/27)

Sweden's DS-13 have finally released a full length of 27 tracks of raging hardcore that is influenced by early '80s sounding American hardcore and Swedish thrash. The end result is a sound that is blazing with anger, fury, and speed. Energetic and raw, yet also catchy. This time around they do covers by Refused and Negative Approach. Great music combined with pissed off lyrics.

DS-13 continues to charge us with their fukked up hardcore with lots of attitude. At first I thought that this was a band that wouldn't stick with me for that long, but boy I was wrong. This is one of the best bands from up here today and this LP is not an exception in the row of hit records (except maybe the "For the Kids..." 7" wich was not as great as the rest). It's hard to point out a favourite track but I must say I like the "D.S.-13 part. II" and they very fast raging "Europe 99". The LP includes 15 new tracks on side A and the splits with STGM and Blood of Others on the B side for those who can't find those. Great initiative! Make sure you get hold of everything that has Demon System 13 marked on it, it's worth it I promise you. Their oldschool gridning harcore can't pass anyone untouched!?

Ouch! Excellent production on one of the finest raging punk records in years! Fast and pissed with bitter lyrics and reckless, screaming vocals. The bass guitar sound rules and powers this machine fully! Often basic punk/hardcore done in a very original way - the writing/performance is something new. While it sounds almost upbeat at times, there are dissonant and jagged patterns developing as well. Side A is all new tracks and side B compiles songs from some older split 7"s for a whopping total of 27 tracks! This is another in a long line of fine Swedish punk bands, pick this up immediately!

[Notable tracks: Dekadensoffer, Your System is Fukked, Buy the Scene, D.S.-13 pt. 2, Nuclear Holocaust, Suiciety Made Us Do It, I Hate Silverchair]
